Create a unique calm

Harbour Yoga is based in Ohinehou Lyttelton and the Heathcote Valley in a tranquil garden setting. Our studio specialise in a vinyasa flow style of yoga where transitions between positions (asanas) flow in a progressive sequence.

The restorative yoga class on Tuesday is a deeper rejuvenating sequence with longer holds to aid in recovery and restore energy.

Emphasis during the vinyasa class is on alignment and direction of motion. Classes at Harbour Yoga are gentle on the body and help to realise flexibility, strength and calm. Yoga asana is always with conscious deep breath to generate a peace of mind that with practice, continues to manifest in everyday life.

Extensions and modifications are called to suit a range of levels so classes are suitable for beginners and those with more experience. Let your teacher know if you are recovering or injured. Our yoga format is influenced by the teaching of BKS Iyengar. Props such as blocks and straps are used to support and refine.
